Brookwood Shop Spot
Welcome to the Brookwood Shop Spot! This blog will share photos, stories and news about all of the wonderful work done by our adults with disabilities in the work program at Brookwood, in Brookshire, Texas. We currently have about 110 resident citizens and 90 day citizens here working in 8 different workshops or programs Monday through Friday, year 'round. The revenue generated by the products our citizens make and grow provides 40% of our annual operating budget!

GRACE
Some of you may have heard this before, but I haven’t. I just wanted to share it with you. During the interview of a potential new citizen and his family, Carol Whitmore discussed Brookwood’s Core Values with them as she does with all new potentials. Once she finished, the father shared his interpretation of the word GRACE. He said it is God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense. How amazing and heartwarming? This touched me so deeply. We often forget the sacrifices the Lord has made to provide us with such riches in our life on a daily basis. In light of this, now I have another way of understanding the true meaning of GRACE in addition to Brookwood’s definition of it.
Thanks,
Diane R. McDonald
