New Gallery Furniture Showroom to Host Store and Classroom for Brookwood!

On Tuesday, June 3rd, Jim "Mack" McIngvale, owner of Gallery Furniture, officiated at the groundbreaking for the newest store to be built in Richmond, Texas.  At this event, Mack announced that this new furniture showroom will host a classroom for day citizens and a store for the citizens to sell their products!

The Brookwood Handbell Choir, along with many Brookwood citizens and staff members were on hand for the groundbreaking.  Brookwood founder, Yvonne Tuttle Streit and Executive Director Vivian Streit Shudde were part of the program, with Mrs. Streit helping shovel the first dirt with a golden shovel.

Furniture Gallery is hoping to open this store in late November or early December. The store will also include a full service restaurant, an indoor playground and tree house for children, and a full-service moving company.

Below are some pictures from the morning's festivities:

Our Horticulture Enterprise Keeps Busy Year-Round...

There are so many jobs in our Horticulture Shop that our citizens handle so well!
Here are some of them:

 Sorting packets

Moving plants

 Growing beautiful flowers

Keeping the Retail Greenhouse fully stocked

Taking plant clippings to grow more plants and sorting more seed packets

 Planting new plants

Labeling the plants

And helping around the shop!

We are so proud of our citizens and all their hard work!

This Says it All...

Church Without Walls...

St. Peter's United Methodist Church included Brookwood once again as part of their "Church Without Walls," where members venture out into the community for fellowship and service.  The Worship center was full of music all morning, followed by a reception in the Cafetorium.

Have you visited our Old Town Spring Store?

I was able to drop in a couple of weeks ago and I was so impressed!  It is a lovely store
with so many great Brookwood gifts and plants to offer.

Our staff is ready to serve you!

The lovely garden area shows off our citizens' plants and garden statuary.
