Citizens Enjoy Horse and Carriage Rides at Brookwood

Many of our Brookwoodians enjoyed horse and buggy rides on October 19th, by members of the Houston Area Carriage Association.  HACA member John Mulligan, brother of citizen Nancy Baggett, brings out many volunteers, carriages and horses each year.  This is the sixth year that HACA has given rides to the citizens of Brookwood!

The HACA promotes the enjoyment and education of the sport of carriage driving, including carriage restoration, pleasure driving and combined driving.  This year, we all enjoyed a beautiful, cool, sunny day after a very rainy night.
Thank you, thank you, thank you from all citizens!

Thanks to Methodist Hospital West for Hosting This!

Great job by Kathryn  Atkinson and her retail team out at the “Positively Pink” Breast Cancer Awareness Bazaar hosted by our friends at The Methodist Hospital West.

Kathryn and her team had 3 great $500+ hrs! Sold over $1,500 of flowers, plants and lawn ornaments. They were kind enough to ask the catering team if we had anything we would like to share and we jumped on the opportunity! Great Retail & Catering Exposure!

Thanks again to Kathryn and Mark for the hard work, love and continual dedication to Brookwood!

Brookwood's Special Olympics Softball Team

Our two Brookwood Eagles Softball teams recently participated in the Special Olympics against our great friends, the Katy Wolfpack Special Olympics team!  Greg Glauser, Joel Steinkemp and Neal Shudde accompanied our guys as coaches.  The event was held at the Katy High School baseball field.  They had a double header, with each team playing one game.  All teams were winners and everyone had a great night!

Fall is the perfect time to buy new plants from Brookwood!!!

I recently took a walk around the Horticulture Department, taking in all of the Greenhouses in the back that I seldom get a chance to visit.  I thought you might enjoy seeing "behind the scenes" in the Horticulture department...Be sure to scroll down the page for lots more citizen pictures!

Is it just that I have been a city girl for too long,
or is it really cool to work where there are windmills?
