Kim believes
that God sent her to Brookwood for a reason:
“One of my focuses is to help different people with different disabilities,
like Cerebral Palsy; to become their voice by knowing them and knowing what
their body language means and helping them say what they need. Everybody has a disability; it is just not
always that obvious.”
Kim has been
living at the Inn at Brookwood since 2010, though she also lived at the Tuttle
Home from 2004-2008, before leaving to help take care of an ailing family
member. She currently works in
Horticulture, but has also enjoyed working in Stonecasting.
Kim’s
favorite thing about living at Brookwood is that she has her own independent
life and many friends that she loves.
She likes “vegging out” on her weekends and free time with computer
games like Solitaire and Mahjong, or watching sports on TV –
especially the Houston Texans. She also enjoys swimming in the Brookwood
pool and just hanging out with her friends.
Saturday Activities and Socials at Brookwood are fun for her, too.
Kim plays in
the Brookwood Handbell Choir and has
acted in our Christmas Plays for Open House.
She loves dogs. In fact, her mom
raised 5 dachshunds, so they are her favorite breed. Her favorite color is brown and she also
enjoys listening to music by Chris Tomlin and Third Day.
We are so
proud of your happy, positive attitude and hard work, Kim! Thank you for being part of the Brookwood
Family!
